Work Session Meeting Minutes - Thursday, November 20th, 2008
The SAC was recently invited to the next Faculty Senate meeting on December 3rd. We discussed how we could best create a positive relationship with the faculty senate and what topics we should bring up at the meeting. We all agreed that a very important area of focus should be the budget. We started a plan to tackle the huge topic of budget cuts and how to best deal with them and agreed to create a list in google Documents.

Roy Flores joined from 1:30-2:00pm to discuss concepts about the how the process of the proposed Student Center can be organized. We identified several areas to keep focus on. We briefly discussed strategies for raising money, decision making with the creation of a committee, and creating a vision for future students and campus community members. The most important of these in establishing and maintaining open communication with the facilities department on campus. We also explored some potential ideas and visions for the Student Center itself. We interviewed a potential candidate for additional Student Administrative Council team member positions. Public Meeting Minutes - Thursday, November 6th, 2008
This was the second public meetings held in the Green Room by the Student Administrative Council. This meeting was held in the evening to give those students not available for our last meeting a chance to get involved and share in our efforts to better this school. Again this meeting was designed to be an information sharing session in which we as council members could share some of the things that we have been doing to enhance student life here on campus. By inviting two guests to speak our goal was to have an open dialogue to get down to some real issues students face. Although one of our guests was not able to attend the meeting we feel like we were successful in our goal. We received some wonderful feedback from the audience and some suggestions about how we can further the work that we do to.

Work Session Meeting Minutes - Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
We began our meeting with an overview of yesterday’s Strategic Planning Committee Meeting which was held in the ED building. We briefly discussed the questions we had and the fact that we had questions about the process in general. In recognizing this, we will work to foster confidence in the students in the cabinet who are working on other campus committees. Questions arise for a reason and we all should have the confidence to ask them especially in regards to the important decisions being made on these committees.

Work Session Meeting Minutes - Thursday, October 23rd, 2008
In this meeting we gathered to discuss a refinement of our meetings as a process. In particular, we want our meetings to be more focused and action item oriented. Thursday meetings in particular will be held in the format of revisiting prior action items for basic info and updates. Our goal is to maximize the output of our meetings in a way which will allow time for regular work to be conducted in our allotted time for the day. With this format in mind we should be able to knock off a fair amount of time on our Thursday meetings. Being mindful of this as a goal is also important to achieving more productive meetings. Our Tuesday meetings may also benefit from this as we learn to organize the time we have to get the most done.
