Events and Activities
This past month our campus came alive with the music of Eagle Jump, presented by Navajo born,
- Art Group Silent Auction
- Eagles Jump
- Darfur Film and Fundraising
- Quarterly Concert Recitals
- Symphonic Band
- Choir
Student Administrative Council:
The SAC had a demanding and productive past month. We embraced the opportunity to travel as a leadership council, to Bakersfield California, where we attended the ASGA Community College Conference. This was a dedicated conference pertaining to the government structures of 2 year facilities nationwide. Previous to our endeavor, we outlined our current assets and liabilities, questions that needed answers and goals to attain over the weekend. We traveled with an open mind for new conceptions that may be available to apply to our new foundation of academic excellence. The event hosted workshops and seminars, it availed us members throughout the west coast
- Moved into our New Office
- Attended the American Student Government Association (ASGA) Conference in Bakersfield Calif. (check it out! http://www.asgaonline.com/ME2/Default.asp) Community colleges from around the country gathered to discuss and learn…. Our purpose for attending was to network colleagues and professionals from other colleges to about best practices that could help us in our work to restructure our student government and rewrite our constitution.
We believe we gained a lot through attending this conference…
- Work Toward Restructuring Student Government
Since early November we have been meeting twice a week to discuss and layout our ideas and share our research….. for restructuringWe identified an article that seemed to speak to the concerns we are trying to address in our restructure and have started a dialogue with the author (NAME)
