Position: Director
Goals for your position: My goals are to help students connect with programs that will support them in their academic pursuits, and to create and fund programs that are needed and not yet available, while maintaining a high level of accountability and communication between the SAC and the program directors and coordinators.
How/What do you hope to contribute to the student body?
I hope to contribute vision. Vision of what is possible and energy to
share the vision and make it happen!
What do you most desire to see change or grow at North?
Student involvement. I want students to start communicating more and I want that communication and feedback to be received and dealt with in an optimistic, helpful and considerate way. The more involved we get, the more seriously we will be taken!
Personal statement:
When I first moved to Seattle from Alaska I had in mind to pursue a career in music, but it felt empty because I wasn’t learning or growing. I realized I really wanted to help other people, but I lacked the education to make my ideas happen. So, I decided to go to college. This is my first year at NSCC and love it! I feel that there are many opportunities already here and many waiting to be revealed. For me, being a member of the Student Administrative Council is so exciting because I actually CAN positively affect our community here at North and I’m really looking forward to making some good changes next year. Aside from school, I am currently working on a short documentary and I am interning at screaming flea productions. I’d like to use my video production skills to make films that address real, current issues with an optimistic view that will encourage and inspire healthy change.
